This Is A Post About Greenshoes

http://feedproxy.google.com

Why don’t we talk abstractly about greenshoes for a while, because for some reason some people want to talk about them and hey, why not, they’re a thing. In talking about greenshoes, though, we are not going to use the F-word, because I swore to myself that last week was the end of that. We’re…

http://www.fiercefinance.com

In the end, the tepid response to the Facebook IPO was probably the best response, one that reflects a healthy way of looking at hot companies and one that just might save us from another bubble.

Fairfax Financial Holdings: The Line Between Desperation And The Miraculous

http://seekingalpha.com

Theology and high finance rarely intersect but one place they likely met is at the Toronto headquarters of insurance conglomerate Fairfax Financial Holdings (FRFHF.PK) in the winter of 2003.

It was there, in the bitter cold of that early February, that V. Prem Watsa, Fairfax's founder and chief executive, along with a handful of his closest colleagues, conceived a transaction whose effect has been nothing short of miraculous.

The JPMorgan Investment Thesis Revisited, Board Of Directors Evaluated

A couple of days ago, I discussed the long-term investment thesis for JPMorgan (JPM) in the wake of the disclosed $2 billion loss. Since then the loss appears to have grown, which is not unforeseen. But other recent disclosures are more unsettling.

Are JPMorgan Chase ETNs Safe?

http://seekingalpha.com

I don't know about you, but here in Texas I can barely drive a mile without passing a JPMorgan Chase (JPM) branch. They're even inside the grocery stores. Simply being everywhere doesn't make a bank safe, of course. As we learned last week, traders in London just cost JPMorgan $2 billion and possibly more! Fitch Ratings downgraded its credit rating one notch to A-plus, and it looks like Moody's may cut the bank, too.

Liverpool may find Roberto Martínez is the limit of their ambition

http://hereisthecity.com

Dave Whelan's rentaquote tendencies appear to have created the impression that Roberto Martínez is the frontrunner for the Liverpool job, though Fenway Sports Group are spreading their net wider than the Wigan manager – much wider. In fact any shortlist that contains Martínez and Brendan Rodgers, plus Jürgen Klopp, Didier Deschamps, André Villas-Boas, Fabio Capello and Pep Guardiola is not really a shortlist at all, more of a supermarket sweep of all Europe's brightest young managers....

Capitaland: A Real Estate Empire In Singapore

http://seekingalpha.com

Real estate may be a weak asset in the United States, but other markets provide plenty of opportunities for gains. One of these markets is Singapore. Due to its business friendly legal structure, low taxation, first world conveniences, and a strong economy, Singapore has been going through a boom in immigration and real estate development. Also, the limited size of the city-state creates a restraint on supply that keeps rents high.
